Notes & Combos

I played 37 games from DLv. 12 to DLv. Max in Round 1 with Kewl Tune. Here is how the deck performed:

  • Overall Win Rate: 70.27% (26 Wins - 11 Losses)
  • Win Rate Going 1st: 81.82% (18 Wins - 4 Losses)
  • Win Rate Going 2nd: 53.33% (8 Wins - 7 Losses)
  • Average Game Length: 2.46 Turns

The Season 54 meta is arguably one of the most diverse we've seen. While I don't think Kewl Tune is strictly the best deck, it is incredibly strong, and I enjoyed how it performed across a variety of matchups. Most of my losses occurred either when I lost the coin flip and had to go second, or when I opened with zero starters going first. Because opponents' deck lists are hidden during this stage of the event, it's hard to pinpoint exactly what I lost to the most, though I did find Sky Striker particularly difficult to break into when going second.

I ran Fuwalos for a while but found it to be a liability, as opponents frequently played around it, and it was a dead card when going first. I eventually swapped it out for Super Polymerization, though I didn't end up resolving it as often as I anticipated. However, I kept Droll & Lock Bird in the main deck, which paid off since I encountered plenty of rogue strategies that folded to a turn-one Droll.
