Notes & Combos

If you told me a year ago that in 2026 I'd be reaching Master with Mystical Space Typhoon and Forbidden Chalice in my deck, I would not believe you. Yet, here we are!

Radiant Typhoon is the kind of deck I enjoy: interactive, not overly oppressive, decent grind game, has a variety of removal options and leaves some room for creativity and tech cards. The only negative for me is that the mirror match is painful, since your quick-plays and MSTs also trigger your opponent's effects. Still, I had a blast playing it this season!

It felt a bit weird to cut Ash Blossom at first, but with Maxx C at 1 the truth is, it doesn't feel that impactful at the moment. If you go 2nd with Ash as your only handtrap 80% of the times your opponent will end on the same board as if you didn't have anything (maybe even better, because you might trigger an Izuna or a Talents).

Because of that, I prioritized high impact handtraps like the Mulcharmies or Droll, as well as having plenty of decent quick-play spells. We don't have The Fallen & The Virtuous yet, so Book of Eclipse and Forbidden Chalice have to do for the time being.

In the extra deck you have some flex spots: you don't really need Downerd/ZEUS or Enterblathnir (I'd rather play Cicada King or a 2nd TY-PHON if I had those), so you could play something like Super Polymerization, which I did at first, but it's not that great in some common matchups like VSK9 and Dracotail, plus the discard cost is significant sometimes. You could also play an aditional Shiina, I didn't because I didn't want to spend more UR dust (had to craft most Radiant Typhoon cards because my pulls were terrible lol).

Hope you enjoy the deck, happy dueling!
