Notes & Combos

At last... Yu-Gi-Oh! is fun once more!

Enneacraft is easily one of the most original and fun Archtypes ever printed, and I'm glad it has finally arrived in MD.

Notes:

  1. Everyone is running D. Fissure over Vanity. While I can understand certain points, such as preventing Droll, Ogre, Veiler, and so on, I don't believe this is the Format for it. There's way too much stuff out there which is not affected by it, such as VS K9, Exosister, Kashtira, Enneacraft itself (which is decently popular), amongst others. Even the big argument for it, which is Kewl Tune, doesn't really die to it—a good Kewl Tune player can actually put a decent fight even under Fissure. Same is true for Branded. Sky Striker and Radiant Typhoon are also considerably popular in the Format, and are barely affected by Fissure. Fissure is extremely underwhelming this Format. Furthermore, when Enneacraft is piloted properly, 90%+ of the times you can easily play around Droll—contrary to popular belief, this Deck does not lose to Droll at all, in fact, it generally doesn't care about it and you gladly take your opponent's Minus One.
  2. Touching on the point above, Vanity's Fiend is what I decided to run instead of Fissure. The card is beyond broken, kills every single Deck in the game, and makes Enneacraft an FTK going first. It is very easy to see consistently thanks to Reverth usually drawing 2 to 4 cards. You always aim to leave Vanity alongside PIXEA (and ideally SPIA too, if possible, but priority is PIXEA). Card is also quite good going 2nd, as it can shut off a lot of stuff, especially if your opponent doesn't know you have it.
  3. Running only Shifter and Maxx C for handtraps as they are win conditions. Maxx C is usually tribute fodder for Vanity going 1st, and going 2nd ensures you see a good amount of Big Crafts to break your opponent's board.
  4. Reset at 3 is to ensure you can search it at any point. It is the best card in the Deck, and ideally you always want to end with it in GY as it can abuse your Small Crafts by resetting them. It is also broken to Perma Negate stuff such as Kewl Tune's Field or B2B without triggering it. 1 Field Spell in my experience is enough/optimal, but this may be true only if you are very experienced with the Deck—If you're new/intermediate, I'd advise running 2 because the Deck pretty much dies if your Field is banished.
  5. Same logic for 3 Release and 3 Reverth, you want to have them assured. Ideally you want to end up with the 3 Spells in GY.

  1. ED is irrelevant—in theory you can play some generic good-stuff, but it will almost never come up.
  2. Maxxed out on the Big Crafts to have a strong going 2nd. Scorpion was cut since I was never using it, it just isn't great.
  3. Ideal end-board without VF is 2-3 Small Crafts (Ideally AlazoneIA and TromarIA always—3rd one is flexible), Whale with Reverth in GY, and PIXEA. Always prioritize Small Crafts for endboard, and if possible never leave LEON going 1st.
